Go-live checklist

Since v0.16.0

A new district starts in Draft status and only safemode IT can flip it to Live, after a review. This keeps a half-finished site from accidentally becoming a taxpayer’s first impression of the district.

Before requesting review, make sure you’ve…

  1. Set your branding: logo, colors, and (recommended) a hero image.
  2. Added your current Board of Directors.
  3. Added at least your most recent Board and ARB meetings, with correct Posted At times.
  4. Added any known holidays and office closures to the Calendar, so visitors aren’t surprised.
  5. Uploaded your core forms (homestead exemption, at minimum) in the Forms library.
  6. Added your taxing-unit links (Tax Entity type) and any Resource links.
  7. Filled in Contact & Office info — phone, email, address, and hours.
  8. Reviewed the SEO & Social tab — a real site description matters for both search and AI-assistant visibility.
  9. Published at least a homepage and a Contact page you’re happy with (use Live Preview to check before publishing).
Some launch-readiness items are platform-level, not per-district — email delivery for the contact form, bot/abuse protection, and a security/accessibility review, for example. Those are tracked by safemode IT, not something an individual district needs to configure. See Texas legal requirements for what the LAW specifically expects a CAD website to do.

When you’re ready, tell your safemode IT contact — they’ll review branding, content, and domain setup with you before flipping the district to Live.
