Rewording a built-in page
Since v0.16.0Your site ships with eight ready-made pages — Protests & ARB, Forms & Exemptions, Public Information, Board & Meetings, Employment, Appraisal Review Board (ARB), Data Downloads & Valuation Reports, and Abstracts & Subdivisions — written in plain, Texas-specific language so a new district is useful on day one. You can leave them exactly as they are, or replace the wording with your own.
The Calendar page isn’t on this list — it’s a live view of your Meetings and Calendar Events, so there’s no fixed wording to reword. See Calendar, Data Downloads & Abstracts.
The one-click way
- On the admin dashboard, find the “Reword a built-in page” panel.
- Click the page you want to change (for example, Protests & ARB).
- It opens a new draft page already filled in with that page’s current text, as editable blocks.
- Change whatever you want, check it in Live Preview, then set Status to Published when you’re ready.
Until you publish, the standard page stays live — your draft changes nothing on the public site, so you can take your time.
Once you publish, your version replaces the standard page at the same address. The board roster, meetings, forms, and job lists come in as live blocks, so those keep updating themselves even after you customize the page. To go back to the standard page, unpublish your version (set it to Draft) or delete it.
The standard Protest, Forms, Public Information, Board, and ARB pages are written to be legally careful and specific to Texas. If you reword them, keep the statutory details — deadlines, form numbers, and statute references — accurate.
