Trial sites: how the free trial works
Since v0.11.0A trial site is a full, working district website you created yourself from the public signup page — no sales call needed. You confirmed your email, chose a password, and the platform built the site instantly with starter content (links, sample staff and board entries, and a welcome notice) so every section has something in it to edit or delete.
- Your trial site has its own web address you can share with colleagues for feedback.
- Everything is editable: branding, colors, any of the ten site templates and designs, pages, notices, forms, and the staff directory work exactly as they do on a live site.
- Visitors see a "Trial site" banner across the top, and trial sites are hidden from search engines — a trial is never mistaken for an official district website.
When the trial ends
Trials are time-limited (the length was in your welcome email). When the period ends, the public site pauses behind a "This trial has ended" page and trial logins pause too — but nothing is deleted. Everything you built is safely stored.
Want to keep your site? Contact safemode IT any time — before or after expiry. Going live is just the normal launch step: your site moves to your district’s real domain with everything you built intact. safemode IT can also extend a trial that needs more time.
